The Ugli Portfolio
Le Petit Society [permalink]
Le Petit Society is an online-only children's apparel retail site.
The site is based on the Drupal platform and uses jQuery to create the full-screen background images, and some other animation here and there to improve the user interface.
The site is integrated with Mailchimp, enabling the company to keep their customers informed of special offers and new products. We also built a mobile version (launching soon) to make sure customers can purchase their products whenever they want to.
We built a Drupal module to allow for products to be placed into a range of personalised giftboxes at checkout.
The site has only just been launched and already orders are rolling in. Congratulations and good luck!

IYouWeBuy Ltd. [permalink]
IYouWeBuy.com is the hybrid of a group-buying site and a 'traditional' online store.
The site integrates with a range of payment gateways including Klarna, Payson and PayPal to give customers as many ways as possible to hand over their money - most challenging was Klarna which provides the facility to 'buy now, pay later.'
Ugli provided full-spectrum service, including consultancy, design, development and project management, for this complex and interesting product.
The online store has shown extremely encouraging traffic and sales since its recent launch and we wish the IYouWeBuy team all the best for the future.

Red Wizard [permalink]
Red Wizard is a feature-rich group buying site enabling buyers to join forces and benefit from discounts not available to individuals.
The system we built allows management to schedule time-sensitive deals to appear on the site. When the time expires or the maximum number is sold, the deals are automatically taken down.
The site also features a directory of local businesses, charity information and a popular weekly competition. It is presented in English and Chinese, and is integrated with Mailchimp to allow email newsletters to be sent.
Red Wizard have been a very creative and committed client to work with, and this was a challenging and exciting project. Here's wishing them every success with the venture!
The fantastic online store and CMS provided by Ugli far exceeded our expectations. Director Tom Fallowfield is extremely responsive and works well with people from both technical and non-technical backgrounds, making excellent suggestions and very clearly explaining everything that we needed to know to operate the site. Ugli is a truly professional team and I would certainly recommend them for your online project. - Sophia Khimji, Director, Red Wizard Ltd.

Ignite Experience [permalink]
Ugli provided web programming and e-commerce functionality for this exciting start-up, which provides assistance to those too busy to manage their love lives.
The system uses a Drupal / Ubercart installation with an advanced management system - developed by Ugli - to handle the unusual nature of the delivery operation. The system handles the details of the company's mutiple fulfillment partners and automatically selects a shipping method (or methods) which matches the delivery addresses, the content of the order, and, crucially, the multiple delivery dates. Members can log in and view a calendar of their loved ones' special occasions and set up timely reminders.
Ignite Experience was a great project to work on, and since its launch in June 2011 various 'first place' search engine rankings have been achieved and the business has gone from strength to strength.
Tom from Ugli has displayed a sense of humour and a deep understanding of our requirements, and is consistently available for after-hours assistance and ongoing support. Our advice to any online start up is to sit down with Ugli and imagine the possibilities! - Mareen and Peggy, owners, Ignite Experience

City Blossom [permalink]
Built for a charming Russian lady who casually discussed the possibility of having her previous graphics guy killed (for not providing enough design revisions) this was a project which - shall we say - could have gone better.
Alarm bells failed to ring when we were informed of the four other companies she had previously managed to 'fire' during this relatively simple project, but we went ahead anyway and, against all the odds, we did get paid.
We built a beautiful and well-featured group buying e-commerce platform but the client's server went dark two weeks later, and they were never heard from again. Spooky!
The graphic designer is no longer a problem - MD, CityBlossom
Loveramics [permalink]
In collaboration with graphics studio Atomic Attack, Ugli developed this complex site, comprising a corporate blog, a store finder and an animated product showcase. We created the functioning site and CMS based on the graphics we received.

HK Golfer Magazine [permalink]
Published by Times International Creations, HK Golfer Magazine is the official magazine of the Hong Kong Golf Association and easily the best-selling golf magazine in Southern China.
Ugli designed and developed this robust and feature-rich content platform, complete with image galleries, advanced multi-user content management features, social media integration and an advertising management system. We also oversaw the significant task of importing four years worth of back issue content.
The site was launched back in January 2011, to much acclaim.
Our goal to create the most popular golf website in Greater China could not have been achieved without the creative energy and professionalism of Tom and his team. They brought exciting and thought-provoking initiatives to the table and we would strongly recommend the Ugli operation to anyone who is serious about enchancing their online presence. They are undoubtedly experts in their field. - Charles McLaughlin, Publisher, HK Golfer

Foot:Toe Ratio Site [permalink]
An enjoyable shift away from our normal projects, this site uses dynamic survey functionality to harvest demographic information along with foot / toe size ratios, in the hope of finding an interesting correlation.
To display the data the site uses charts created dynamically by the Google Chart Tools API.
Why not visit the site and take the survey?
From concept to delivery Ugli exceeded expectations and delivered a website that came in ahead of schedule and on budget. I will use Ugli for all my projects in the future and would encourage you to do so as well - Martin Haigh, Foot:Toe Data Man

Hong Kong Events [permalink]
Ugli's very first major project, this site was originally launched in spring 2010, and version two is nearing completion at the time of writing. In that time, Hong Kong Events has far surpassed all original traffic targets and is now commanding strong advertising revenues.
The site is heavily integrated with Facebook and scores very highly in search engine ranking pages, for terms related to events in general as well as in searches for specific events.

This boutique farmhouse bed and breakfast in Le Gers, France approached Ugli for a wholesome, fresh site to promote itself to international custom.
While online, the site achieved first page rankings for high value search terms like "B&B South France".
The site is currently offline as my parents have moved back to Devon, but I saved a copy. Check it out.
